Do you agree on buying a PSP or NDS for a kid under 12 years old? Is age an issue here ?
Would you buy it for your son/daughter when he/she has not asked for it yet ?

Most of the kids nowadays are so caught up with these computer toys. They play during dinner time, play on the MTR, play with their friends each with a PSP/NDS. Kids are fascinated by these portable toys, they think about it while they are doing homework, they miss it more than they miss their girlfriend/boyfriend or the ones who truly care about them.

Parents are frustrated by these horrible toys. First, because they draw the hearts out of their sons/daughters. Second, "My friends all have it, mum." said their sons/daughters. Third, they are crazy expensive.

A friend of mine - a mother of my son's classmate bought a PSP for her son, but not allow him to play. She hopes he would truly understand that at this stage studying/reading books are more important. My son arrives home today and asks me, "Can Jack (my son's classmate) come to our house tomorrow after school, we have a project to do together ?" "Yes, if his mother agrees." I replied. "Yeh..." My son cheers, and said, "Jack said he will bring his black PSP with him tomorrow." Goodness me !
